Consultancy Services
Sonas Healthcare is the operator of a number of nursing homes throughout the country and was the first Nursing Home(s) in Ireland to be awarded the Quality Mark from Excellence Ireland. The Quality Mark is a framework through which an organization can design, maintain and improve itself so that it can create quality output continuously and respond effectively to changing conditions.
Having implemented the Quality Mark for its own group and with the experience gained to date of designing, fitting out, staffing and operating nursing homes Sonas Consultants are now in a position to pass on their acquired knowledge and experience to other parties by providing the following services:
Pre Planning (Stage 1)
- Feasibility Study to ascertain demand for facility including demographics, competition, planning proposals etc.
- Financial appraisal to include Nursing Home Projections, cash flows and examination of Tax Model if applicable.
- Banking, developments finance and long term finance.
Architectural (Stage 2)
- Obtain information about the site from the client
- Visit the site and carry out an initial appraisal
- Provide general advice on the need to obtain Planning Permission; comply with Building Regulations, HSE and the Health Information and Quality Authority Standards (HIQA).
- Analyse the client's requirements; prepare outline proposal on clients’ further instructions.
- Provide information to discuss proposals with and incorporate input of other consultants.
- Provide information to other consultants for the preparation of an approximation of construction cost.
- Consult with Planning Authority.
- Develop scheme design from approved outline proposals, on client's further instructions indicating architect' interpretation of clients instructions.
- Provide information to other consultants for their preparation of cost estimate.
- Prepare preliminary timetable for construction.
- Prepare an application for Planning Permission.
- Develop detail design from approved scheme design, on client's further instructions
- Consult with Building Control Authority.
- Provide information to discuss proposals with, and incorporate input of other consultants into detail design.
- Provide information to other consultants for their preparation of cost estimate.
- Prepare documentation to indicate general compliance of design with Building Regulations and other statutory requirements.
- Prepare and lodge Fire Safety Certificate application.
(All works to be carried out in accordance with RIAI scope of works, Stages 1 to 3, section A).
Post Planning (Stage 3)
- Project Management.
- Preliminary discussions with Nursing Home Inspection Team.
- Advice on full fit out to conform to HSE and HIQA requirements.
- Staff profile which would involve an estimate of staff requirements.
- Setting up of operational system for facility.
- Provision of a Quality Management System based on based on HIQA Standards.
- Training of staff on HIQA standards and HSE regulations.
- Advise on application for Nursing Home registration.

A full training and development service to operators who wish to introduce a Quality Management Service to include:
- Audit of service to define requirements
- Provision of a Quality Management System based on the "Quality Mark"
- Training of staff to operate the quality system
- Continuous quality auditing service
- Setting up of operational system for facility
