|Sonas Nursing Home Riverview are currently recruiting for a Permanent Full Time Chef/Cook to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities: ·
Full responsibility for the production of food and to constantly introduce new and innovative menu options that meets the needs of the elderly care population.
He/She will ensure that all daily menus are balanced and meet our customer requirements of producing high quality food.
To work with the Person in Charge to ensure all client requirements are met.
To achieve budgeted resident food cost through consistent costings and menu planning.
To ensure the highest standards of Health and Safety and HACCP are maintained in the catering facility.
To work as part of a catering team.
To continually react to dietary trends within the elderly care environment.
To be aware of food nutrition standards / guidelines for the older population
To assist the Person in Charge in the Nursing Home during HIQA audits
Desirable to have a qualification as a cook or chef from a recognized catering school or adequate cooking experience received under supervision.
Candidates must be HACCP trained and a knowledge of special diets is an advantage. Home baking for residents is encouraged as Sonas is a home from home for our residents.
Hours of Work: The hours of work are inclusive of weekend shifts with normal working hours being between 07:30am to 17:30pm.
